Eastside Farmers Market Manager Job Description

Part time position
Total budgeted hours: $15/hr, 10 hrs/wk, for 30 weeks April 18 through October 31, 2017.
The market managers will be hired by and be accountable to the board of directors and the vendor members of the Eastside Farmers' Market, Inc. The market hours are from 4pm until 7pm, Tuesdays for 29 weeks mid April 18 through October 31, 2017.
The market manager must be available on Tuesdays.

Essential Functions...

  • Maintains communication with Social Media Manager, board members, vendors, & customers
  • Must have a personal vehicle to use for transporting market equipment/materials to and from the market
  • Assists with the production of Farmers Market and related marketing materials and reports
  • Assists with recruiting, inspiring and supervising volunteers
  • Works collaboratively with the EFM Board
  • The Market manager will set out market yard signs and directional signs on Tuesday before the market.
  • The manager must be available to staff the information booth at Central Park each market day (Tuesdays from 3pm until 7:30pm) including set up and take down of the tent and materials. The information booth will be a resource for customers for information about the vendors and their products. The Eastside Farmers' Market will offer EBT/Snap benefit services.
  • The market manager will be available during market hours to process EBT/Snap benefit transactions as needed. The manager will be responsible for the basic record keeping and paperwork for SNAP services. The manager will work with CAC to offer the Double Dollars program.
  • The information booth will also be an emergency checkpoint as required by the Parks Department. The market manager will have the ability to call for emergency services as well as providing a first aid kit for the market customers
